Welcome, one and all, aboard a new mystery cruise. I hope it presents you with some fleeting entertainment before sinking to the depths of the blue oceans.
This skirmish will be a team battle with three teams: Team CoB, for those who would defend the honor of our venerable City of Books; Team GG, for those who would rather side with the enemy; Team R(enegade), for those who are too cool to represent either side in the forced CoB vs GG conflict. Or who just like the color green.
The rules are as follows. Each team has to make a move within a deadline. The move is a blue statement that can be anything. If the statement contains any falsehoods, the GM will respond in red, contradicting one randomly chosen error. If the blue contains no false statements, the GM responds in red that the blue passes. The team that manages to submit passed blues that collectively answer each key point of the mystery from a predetermined list using the fewest moves, wins. Passed blues that contain certain details that are not required for the board to be considered solved reduce the team's final move count by one.
There's an extra twist, however. Whenever a team makes a move, they get to decide on whether their blue or its red response will be concealed from the other teams. What is not concealed will be posted on this thread once all teams have made their moves. The decision is made before the GM's response is revealed.
The details required for the board to be solved relate only to the howdunnit and whodunnit of the core mysteries taking place aboard our cruise. The motives for any shady actions generally provide bonus points, but are not required for the board to be considered solved. Note, however, that if your blue includes claims related to motives, they are liable to get denied in red if incorrect, preventing the entire blue from passing.
If players are at a loss as to what remains to be explained about the mystery, they're always free to ask the GM to elaborate on what remains unanswered by their current passed blues.
The freedom to blue anything is powerful indeed, but it comes at a cost. This gameboard does not conform to the usual rules. Only one person is responsible for everything, and everyone else is perfectly innocent? No, the pieces of this messy jigsaw puzzle follow only their own desires, paying no heed to such convenient restrictions.
But enough preamble. The S.S. Fantastic awaits its passengers.
The deadline for the first move is in three days. Once all teams have submitted their move, the results will be revealed at the same time. Afterwards, the new deadline is in two days from the GM posting the moves in the thread. Teams that fail to make a move within the deadline make a blank move - their move count increases by one, but they get neither a blue nor a red.

Let me know in the CoB channel if you wish to join a team. You can also tackle the board in private if you're feeling spicy.
